The Four Gospels

This series of teachings by Fr. Richard is a wonderful exploration and introduction into the study of Scripture. Fr, RIchard presents background information to help us discern the purpose, the writer, and the time frame for each Gospel. The information offers insight that helps the reader go deeper into the books' message. He also explores and summarizes some key passages that further aid our understanding of the Gospels. As always, listeners are left with a greater knowledge of the topic and a stronger base from which to continue on their own path of discovery.

Breathing Under Water: Spirituality and the Twelve Steps

Fr Richard has long held that the Twelve Steps program of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is America’s most significant contribution to the practice of spirituality.

In this recording, he introduces his newest book, Breathing Under Water, where he looks at the Twelve Steps program and correlates some of its key elements to Scriptural passages, making clear the connection between spiritual transformation and the process of psychological healing.

Emotional Sobriety : Rewiring our Programs for Happiness

When ‘happiness’ eludes us—as eventually it always will—we have before us the invitation to examine our programmed responses, and to exercise our power to choose again. We exaggerate, confuse, and distort reality, thus causing an emotional imbalance in our families, our church, and our politics. We can learn to heal our reactive responses by seeking ‘emotional sobriety,’ which is really the task that we call contemplation.

--- Becoming a true human adult

Teaching by Richard Rohr, OFM and Bill Plotkin, PHD.

What do you mean Falling Upward?

A Richard Rohr webcast presentation of his recent book, Falling Upward.

In the first half of life, we are naturally and rightly preoccupied with establishing our identity - climbing, achieving, and performing. But those concerns will not serve us as we grow older and begin to embark on a further journey, one that involves challenges and mistakes that actually shock us out of our prior comfort zone.

Eventually we need to see ourselves in a different and more life-giving way.

Discharging your Loyal Soldier

In this new teaching, Father Richard starts with reading the final part of the Scripture parable of the “Prodigal Son”, as he focuses on the elder son. This reading gives insight into a deep reflection on something that we all have within us - the “Loyal Soldier”.

Richard weaves a unifying narrative between Scripture, spiritual direction, the Enneagram, modern psychology, and mature spirituality. Hear how the Loyal Soldier is very helpful in our early years, but upon reaching adulthood, the time comes to give the Loyal Soldier an “honorable discharge”.

When Action Meets Contemplation

The pre-Conference recordings from Emerging Christianity UK Conference, Swanick.

Shane Claiborne is on fire with the Holy Spirit and acting in the world according to the teachings of Jesus. Not an easy task to accomplish anywhere in today’s world. This is especially challenging in inner-city Philadelphia. For a young man from Tennessee, he can show us all how to be faithful to Jesus’ teachings and have a lot of fun in the process! You will be inspired by his energy, wit, and courageous example.
